Commercial / office

Commercial and office moving

A business move is planned around your operations: schedules, building access and equipment. Describe your project to reach eligible companies in your region.

What to expect

For an office or a store, the moving company will often want to visit or get a floor plan before confirming a price. The work can be done in the evening or on weekends to limit disruption, depending on each company's availability and rates.

  • Work window

State when operations can be interrupted and the key handover deadline.

  • IT equipment

Plan who unplugs, labels and reconnects workstations and servers; it is not always included.

  • Labelling plan

A code per room or workstation speeds up set-up at destination.

Details that help with an estimate

  • Approximate floor area and number of workstations.
  • Furniture to disassemble: desks, partitions, conference tables, filing cabinets.
  • Archives, boxes and heavy equipment (copiers, safes, shelving).
  • Schedule and access constraints at both addresses.

Building rules and access

  • State the floor at both addresses and whether stairs are indoor, outdoor or spiral.
  • Elevator: say whether one is available, whether it must be booked and whether there is a service elevator.
  • Parking: estimate the distance between the truck and the door, and mention narrow streets, alleys or no-stopping zones.
  • Loading dock: say whether there is one and whether it must be booked.
  • Some building managers require proof of the moving company's insurance before granting access; check these requirements early.

The July 1 peak period

In Québec, many residential leases end on June 30. Demand is therefore very high around July 1, and availability becomes scarce.

  • Submit your request several weeks in advance if your date falls between mid-June and mid-July.
  • Say whether your date is flexible: a weekday or a date shifted by a few days can make scheduling easier.
  • Some municipalities or boroughs require a permit to reserve curb space for the truck; check with your city.
  • Even for an office, avoid late June and early July if you can: crews are in high demand for residential moves.

Your request and your consent

  1. You describe the move

Type of move, validated addresses, date and a few details. No contact details are requested at this step.

  2. You give explicit consent

Your contact details are only shared with eligible companies serving your area, at most the number stated in the consent you accept.

  3. Companies first see an anonymized summary

Areas, date, type and approximate size. Your contact details go only to the selected movers (3 to 5 depending on your contact preference).

The sharing consent checkbox is separate from the optional newsletter checkbox, which is never pre-checked. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the privacy officer listed in our privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Can the move take place outside business hours?

Often, yes, but it depends on each company and your building's rules. State your constraints in the request so companies can take them into account.

Is a site visit necessary?

For a commercial move, a visit or detailed plan is common before a firm quote. The form starts the conversation; it does not set the price.
