How much does a move cost in Québec?
There is no single price: each mover applies its own rates based on crew, truck, distance and date. Here are the factors that really matter, and how to get comparable quotes for your trip.

What affects the price
Home size and inventory
The number of rooms and large furniture sets the crew size, truck and number of hours.
Floors, stairs and elevator
Each floor without an elevator adds handling time; a booked elevator speeds things up.
Distance and driving time
Locally, driving time is often billed hourly; for long distance, per kilometre.
Moving date
The July 1 period, peak season and weekends may carry a surcharge.
Special items
Pianos, safes, pool tables or hot tubs need extra equipment and time.
Packing and assembly
Crew packing, materials and furniture disassembly add to the base price.
We deliberately show no average price: it would be misleading without your inventory, access and date.
Frequently asked questions
Why not show a fixed price?
Because the price depends on your inventory, access, date and each company's rates. A price shown without that information would be misleading.
How do I compare quotes?
Check the number of movers, the hourly or flat rate, travel fees, minimum hours, taxes and what is included (packing, materials, assembly).
How many quotes will I receive?
Depending on your contact preference, 3 to 5 moving companies in your area may contact you with a quote.
